And Then There Was This! :(

Words can’t express how I am feeling right now. I am so numb. The picture on the top left was my home and our ministry.  I praise God that my daughter just happen to be staying with me for a short while.  I am sorry that she had to live through this, but if she hadn’t been with me I don’t know if I would have made it out alive.

It normally takes 30 minutes to get to Chico from Paradise, it took us 4.5 hours driving through with fire all around us. Never in my life did I think I would experience something like this. I praise God for sparing our lives!

I will try my best to bring you up to date with what is our plan. As always we will be seeking God for His direction. As of now we want to mention that the house we were currently using was a rental which highly affected the freedom we had in housing women. Before this tragedy happened we had already planned over the next year to raise the funding we needed to purchase a home. So I am asking you to please pray and ask God if you are to have any part in helping us rebuild the ministry of the House of Redeeming Love. I truly believe God is not finished yet with this ministry. I also believe it will be better than ever.

Remember all donations given through the House of Redeeming Love are tax deductible, so if you are looking for a year-end deduction this is a place you can invest into the lives of women and young girls. You can go to houseofredeeminglove.org, you will eventually be asked to “choose” a missionary you will scroll down and find House of Redeeming Love. Or you can send checks to the address listed below, make checks payable to HRL. We truly appreciate anything that you can do to help during this challenging time.

HRL Girl’s Club

Love spending time with these girl’s. These are pictures of a weekend retreat we spent at a place called “The Lord’s Land” aka Ywam Mendocino. It was a great time of seeking God and learning how to pray for one another. One of the girls was afraid to pray out loud at all before this time and right after we were at an event and needed someone to pray over the food and she blurted out “I can pray, I now know how to pray” Also I love being able to share in a lot of “first” for some of these girls. This was her first time to the beach.

I want to introduce you to Serenity. She is an amazing young women that God has brought into our lives. She is one who became part of our girls club because of our Compassion Connection Ministry. Because of life situations she has limited resources, so because her living arrangements aren’t to what would be needed she asked if we could have her birthday party at our ministry house, also we helped her make a beautiful costume for a trunk and treat. Her mom, Jayme, pictured with her has pancreatic cancer. Please keep her in your prayers. I love watching God work in both of their lives!

There was this…..

Love the new seasons! I love change.
Some people aren’t comfortable with change,
but I know that with change comes growth.
And if we are not growing, then we are dying!
Isaiah 43:18-19
“But forget all that—
it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.
19 For I am about to do something new.
See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.

COMPASSION CONNECTION
I will be following up in a couple days with an extended letter detailing this ministry for those of you who would like to know all that God has been doing

These are pictures of the body of Christ being the hands and feet of Jesus!
The top 4 are of Jubilee Church and the bottom ones are Ywam Chico. I can’t say thank you enough. It blesses my heart that they are willing to get down and dirty to show the love of Jesus! The new owner made a comment, he said “someone keeps telling me that it is God, and all I can say is you guys keep coming” I love that we can show him that God loves him to send others to help!

So as timed moved ahead I felt God leading me to start a women’s book club. I felt it was supposed to be with the book Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. It is a novel based off of the book of Hosea. In case you don’t know Hosea was a prophet God told him to marry a prostitute named Gomer, and when she would leave him and go back into prostitution God told Hosea to go bring her back. This is an example how God pursued Israel when she was being stubborn and how he pursues us also. We felt like I wanted to make this a very special time for these women, so we went out and bought a tent to have our meetings in. And we do our best to make it fancy so that they feel special and loved. This picture is of a lady named Sharon, her words in response to what we are doing are “I feel like a lady again”. She brought me this apron I am wearing in the picture. I just love how God is showing his love to these who have felt forgotten.

Camp Fire Update

So here we are a little over one month from the day that changed history for an entire community. As you know, our ministry was located in the once beautiful Paradise, CA. The devastating Camp Fire took the ministry home of House of Redeeming Love. So, of course, we were asking God “what now?” We feel God is asking us to continue to move forward. What does that look like?

We have a strong sense that God still wants us to build the “home” in Paradise. It will take time to get there, but in the meantime, He has opened an amazing door for us to purchase a small home on a 1/4-acre lot in Magalia, just north of Paradise. A lot of our current ministry is actually being done in this community. We are eager to be there to show God’s love and concern for all those affected by this devastating fire, and to continue to walk with those we have been mentoring over time. This would be our base of operations as we work toward purchasing a permanent property in Paradise and begin to build the home we have envisioned for this ministry. This property has room for a travel trailer on which has already been donated to us. It will be used for temporary housing for women and children who come from situations such as domestic violence.
How can you help?
I am asking you to please pray and ask God if you are to have any part in helping us rebuild the House of Redeeming Love. I truly believe God is not finished yet with this ministry. I also believe it will be better than ever.

The current property we are trying to purchase is $70,000. We have already been given $2,300 only $67,3000. All donations given through the House of Redeeming Love are tax deductible, so if you are looking for a year-end deduction this is a place you can invest into the lives of women and young girls.
Thank you for considering our ministry in this time of need. May God bless you in this Christmas season!
God Bless You,
